The sun was shining and it was 70 degrees. Spent the day just chilling with kids and grand kids. My 2 6 year old grand boys decided that a large Tonka dump truck and a 5' dirt hill made for a great thrill ride. They spent the afternoon riding the truck down the hill and over a skate board ramp. Sometimes I wish I was 6.
Even though I am getting older, I'm never too old to play with my 12 year old twins or 10 year old. We assaulted the beaches and took the castle and all was well with the world. Enjoy what you can and view the world through the wonder and eyes of a child.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, sometimes I wish that I was 6 years old, but only in 1959, not today. Glad to hear that you are enjoying your grandkids - they are definitely a blessing and the reason to have children of your own.
ReplyDeleteWhen my kids were small, almost 50 years ago, they did same thing! Tonka trucks were made of metal back then and lasted for years and years. The yellow dump truck was their favorite, too!

I'm so glad you were able to see beauty. And a smile might have crossed your lips more than once. If I could have my Tonka trucks back, even at my age I would be outside creating roads and hills. We can't BE 6 again, but our minds can when we have a Tonka truck in our hands.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good day. Lu and are hoping you have many more.
