Very nice weekend.

Yesterday we celebrated mama's birthday. I won't tell which one, 'cause I ain't stoopid. She came home from the hospital on Wednesday. Thursday we got set up with the Oncologist with the chemo. She is going to be taking an experimental drug called Avastin, thus we won't have to pay anything for the treatment.

Anyway. Yesterday was a wonderful day with our son and daughter, their spouses and all the grand kids. I cooked a brisket for about 8 hours. We had home made venison sausage, home made boudin, awesome potato salad, ranch beans, grilled corn on the cob, and a sweet strawberry cake. I wish I had taken pictures but we were having to much fun.

Today we were just quiet with mama reading from her kindle. The family got it as her birthday gift. She is an avid reader. It was just a very nice quiet day. I did get to watch two movies I hadn't seen. 'Salt' and 'Apaloosa" with Marlin Brando. Neither were Oscar winners but they were fun.

Please hug someone you love today.

  2. sounds like a pretty good day to me. Happy belated B-day to Mrs. CC.
I'm glad you didn't post pics. Just reading about slow cooked succulent brisket and venison sausage is killing me here. I'm stahvin, Mahvin, and still at work.
