Saw this on my favorite fishing board this morning, in regard to teaching young people manners(ie, shaking hands).

Amen to that, Brother! Tried to explain that to my son over the years about stupid fad haircuts, as well as manners. I told him that the first thing anyone is going to see as you approach is your head, and if you have a doofus haircut, then they are going to start by thinking they are dealing with a doofus, even before you open your mouth.
